Columbiana County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board

Columbiana County Suicide Prevention Coalition

The Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board has been serving the residents of Columbiana County since 1969. The Board contracts with service agencies to provide treatment and support for persons with mental health and substance use problems. The Board plans, funds, and monitors a comprehensive system of mental health and substance use services for both children and adults.

Public accountability for the system is assured through a governing board composed of professionals, family members, civic leaders, and individuals recovering with mental illnesses and substance use issues.

END SUICIDE STIGMA:

Our Mission

Reducing suicide in Columbiana County by promoting mental wellness, challenging stigma, and strengthening connections to care and community.

Our Vision

To be a guiding light of hope, pointing the way to a community where mental wellness is prioritized, conversations about suicide are met with compassion, and no one faces their challenges alone.

Our Coalition Members

Our coalition is made up of a diverse group of stakeholders dedicated to community well-being. Members include representatives from local mental health and addiction treatment agencies, the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office, law enforcement, educational services, substance use prevention, crisis services, clergy, community organizations, and individuals with lived experience, including those who have lost loved ones to suicide. We believe that including voices from the community enriches our efforts and helps ensure that our initiatives are relevant and effective. Together, we collaborate to implement effective prevention strategies and initiatives tailored to the needs of our community.
